envirophone ie What is it that they actually do?

Last year, I have started a recycling initiative among friends: to recycle used mobile phones. I looked at envirophone ie first. I must say we just have the idea of collecting a few among ourselves and then sending to the recycler to see what happens. At least we will get some extra pocket money. And once we tried this out and got our first payment (100 pounds for three very old phones) in return for the unwanted phones, we got impressed and wanted to get it going. I began to persuade my mom and dad, my sister and other relatives to donate or sell old phones to me so that I can process the recycling for them. My dad donated to me his old blackberry, which turned out to worth a good deal. Sometimes I share a bit of revenue with them but most of the time they don’t care that much as long as I put the old phones to a good use. I also realised that my mom has a lot of friends (other parents and some work colleagues), so she has managed to get me some more old handsets here and there from her acquaintances. It is amazing to know how many people actually leave their old phones lying around at home without trying to reuse or sell them. That’s where envirophone ie comes in

After a few more runs, I get better at finding out the right recyclers and making sure that I get the best price for each phone recycled. My friends also do the same, and we share the profit together. We even dedicated a percentage of the funds raised to helping wildlife in Africa through a local charity. I am quite proud of our scheme. Last time I also shared this finding with our teacher in liberal studies class, and she thought it was a good idea too. In fact she asked me and my friends to share our experience with the class so that more people can be aware of how to recycle mobile phones for cash and the benefits of recycling. I know that the school is also thinking of running its own scheme so that they can raise environmental awareness and do more for local charity through envirophone ie.
